Maple Leafs recall Leipsic and Morin

The Toronto Maple Leafs announced today that the team has recalled forwards Brendan Leipsic and Jeremy Morin from the American Hockey League’s Toronto Marlies on an emergency basis. Defenceman Jared Cowen and forward Josh Leivo have been placed on injured reserve.

Leipsic, 21, has recorded 34 points (14 goals, 20 assists) in 47 games with the Marlies this season. Leipsic was acquired by the Maple Leafs in a trade with Nashville on February 15, 2015 after the Predators selected him in the third round (89th overall) of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.
