Auston Matthews, John Tavares, Mitch Marner, and Zach Hyman each scored. Garrett Sparks stopped 22 of 24 shots sent his way.
Matthews had an assist on the Tavares goal, which is his 200th career NHL point. According to NHL Stats, he is the third fastest player to reach 200 career NHL points in Maple Leafs history at 204 games played (Charlie Conacher – 197 GP; Syl Apps – 200 GP).
The next Leafs action is Saturday evening when the host the Rangers.
