The Toronto Maple Leafs are back in the action with (presumably) another small money signing in P.A. Parenteau. We’ll update the Parenteau signing with dollar amounts when it comes in.
Parenteau could be the Maple Leafs 2015-2016 version of Daniel Winnik/Mike Santorelli in that he can have a rebound season and be dealt at the trade deadline for future assets.
This was a route that the Leafs needed to take – finding a potential rebound player to showcase and flip at the deadline. Very smart signing by the Leafs front office.
Last year, Parenteau struggled with only eight goals and 22 points in 56 games for the Montreal Canadiens after declining the previous year with the Colorado Avalanche.
