The Toronto Maple Leafs have signed free agent forward Daniel Winnik to a two-year contract.
Winnik, 30, registered 25 points (seven goals, 18 assists) in 58 games with the Maple Leafs last season before he was traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins on February 25 for Zach Sill and two draft picks.
In 569 career NHL games with Toronto, Pittsburgh, Anaheim, San Jose, Colorado and Phoenix, Winnik has registered 184 points (58 goals, 126 assists).
