Toronto FC 1-1 Colorado Rapids: Jay Chapman’s first MLS goal not enough

Toronto FC’s seven-match winning run in MLS at BMO Field came to an end in a 1-1 draw with the Colorado Rapids on Saturday.

Toronto started strongly against a Rapids side without a point on the road in MLS this season. Sebastian Giovinco peeled away to the left side of the box to receive a deflected through ball and after Tsubasa Endoh had been denied by Zac MacMath, Chapman nodded in the rebound.

The first half petered out from there though, and Toronto were lucky not to lose Chris Mavinga to a red card for a strong challenge in retaliation to a bodycheck on Raheem Edwards.
