Rate the Reds: Benoit Cheyrou changes the game

Benoit Cheyrou’s influential performance and equalizing goal as a substitute for Toronto FC against the New York Red Bulls earned him man-of-the-match honours through your votes.

The Reds were markedly different with and without the Frenchman on the field, seeing plenty of the ball without ever really threatening until his introduction.

Cheyrou stooped to head in a cross from Steven Beitashour after Chris Mavinga, who also impressed in New Jersey, had flicked the ball into his path.

The former Marseille man just edged out Victor Vazquez in our poll, with Mavinga placing third and fellow substitute Raheem Edwards also scoring well.
