Jose Bautista's one-game suspension has been upheld, the Toronto Blue Jays announced Friday.
The outfielder will serve the suspension Friday night against the Boston Red Sox.
Bautista was punched in the jaw by Texas Rangers second baseman Rougned Odor in the top of the eighth inning of the teams' game on May 15. Bautista slid at Odor's legs in an attempt to break up a double play.
Players from both teams rushed the field, and Odor shoved Bautista and then landed the punch.
The league disciplined 14 players and staff for their actions in the brawl.
