So it’s no surprise he took to The Players’ Tribune to talk up Hogtown. But – shocker – it wasn’t love at first sight.
“When I got drafted by the Blue Jays out of Duke in 2012, I was pretty upset about it,” he wrote in the first-person account that was posted Friday. “I didn’t want to go to Canada. I didn’t know anything about Toronto.”
He quickly changed his mind, recounting that after he was called up in 2014 and saw what the city has to offer he “fell in love.
