CLEVELAND - First pitch of the 112th Fall Classic is looming, and both teams have added important pieces to their World Series rosters.
As expected, the Cleveland Indians added right-hander Danny Salazar to their post-season roster for the first time, and it could be a big addition for manager Terry Francona’s club.
Salazar hasn’t pitched since coming down with forearm soreness in early September, but prior to getting hurt the 26-year-old went 11-6 in 137 1/3 innings for the Indians, holding a 3.87 ERA and racking up 2.5 WAR in just 25 starts.
He could be a candidate to start Game 4 in Chicago if he isn’t needed out of the bullpen prior to that.
