Boom! Blue Jays’ bats come alive in thumping win over Twins

TORONTO — The Blue Jays’ bats awoke, Francisco Liriano found the plate more often than not and both the Red Sox and the Orioles were getting spanked.

For a day, all was right with the baseball world again for the now alone-in-first Blue Jays, thanks to a 15-8 Friday night thumping over the visiting Minnesota Twins at the Rogers Centre.

Liriano was by no means efficient — or even consistent — but he was effective enough, needing 102 pitches to get through five innings as he recorded his first win as a Blue Jay in his fourth start.
