Oakland A’s pitcher Sonny Gray has been the subject of trade rumors for some time due to his team friendly contract that has two years of control remaining on it after this season. The 27-year earned $ 3.575 million in 2017 and is arbitration eligible after this season but won’t hit free agency until 2020.
Gray has been the shell of his former-self struggling to regain his All-Star form from 2015. The A’s will understandably be asking for a package of high-end prospects to pry his services from the bay. Gray was impressive for all in attendance on Sunday limiting the White Sox to one run over seven innings while fanning seven.
