Zaza scores stunner as Valencia dents Real Madrid's La Liga title hopes

Real Madrid suffered a hiccup on its quest to win La Liga's title, falling 2-1 at Valencia on Wednesday.

Valencia scored twice in the opening nine minutes–including a phenomenal strike from Simone Zaza–and held on despite Cristiano Ronaldo's goal just before halftime. The result keeps Real Madrid's lead over Barcelona at one point, with Los Blancos still maintaining one game in hand.

Valencia opened the scoring in the fourth minute through Zaza, who completed a sensational volley on the turn to pick out the upper left-hand corner and stun the visitors.

Five minutes later, Fabian Orellana doubled the lead off an assist from Nani, putting Real in a 2-0 hole.
