LAS VEGAS -- It felt very weird to step off a plane into 116-degree heat and get excited about hockey, but Las Vegas is no stranger to weird things.
What lied ahead was a big couple of days for hockey in the desert. Not only was The Strip once again hosting the annual NHL Awards, where the game’s best and brightest gather to celebrate the tremendous individual accomplishments of the past year, but there were also a few additional events looped in to boost the usual offseason buzz.
The first was a celebration of the NHL’s new partnership with adidas, which kicks in this upcoming season.
