Canadiens trade P.K. Subban to Predators for Shea Weber

While the Boston Bruins were saying good bye to a once highly valued defenseman, they were also showing would-be restricted free agent Torey Krug how highly valued he is now. The club announced Krug has signed a new four-year deal with a $5.25 million annual average.
Before announcing the Krug deal, however, it was reported that veteran defenseman Dennis Seidenberg, a top-four cog during the club's 2011 Stanley Cup run, was waived for the purposes of buying out the final two years of his contract.
