The Latest: Irvin says rape allegation cost him millions

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) The Latest on former Dallas Cowboys football star Michael Irvin being cleared of sexual assault allegations (all times local):

3:00 p.m.

Former Dallas Cowboys star Michael Irvin says he lost ”millions” of dollars in endorsements and business deals because of a sexual assault investigation that resulted in no charges.

Irvin said during a news conference Monday that was ”devastated” by the allegation made by a 27-year-old woman he said he considered a friend. Irvin says committing murder is the only thing worse than falsely accusing someone of rape.

Florida prosecutors said Monday there’s insufficient evidence to file sexual assault charges against the 51-year-old Hall of Famer.
