Justin Fuente will become the next coach at Virginia Tech, a source confirmed to ESPN's Brett McMurphy.
Fuente, who has revived the program at Memphis, will replace revered Virginia Tech coach Frank Beamer, who announced earlier this month that he will retire at the end of this season.
Longtime Hokies defensive coordinator Bud Foster and associate head coach Shane Beamer will remain on Virginia Tech's staff under Fuente, the source told McMurphy.
Fox 5 DC reported earlier Saturday that Fuente would be the Hokies' next coach and that the school would announce the hiring in the coming days.
