Rio Olympics 2016: Steve Johnson, Jack Sock give U.S. bronze in tennis

As it turns out, the Bryan brothers' decision not to play the Rio Olympics didn't keep the United States off the medal stand in men's doubles.

Steve Johnson and Jack Sock won bronze Friday evening, defeating seventh-seeded Canadian duo of Daniel Nestor and Vasek Pospisil, 6-2, 6-4.

The victory was a bit of redemption in Rio for a U.S. tennis team decimated by withdrawals on the men's side and early losses on the women's. Missing top singles player John Isner and the defending Olympic doubles champions, Bob and Mike Bryan, Johnson in particular has been a standout for the U.
