Notre Dame players could have criminal records expunged in probation program

Two Notre Dame football players have a chance to start fresh if they play their cards right.

Fighting Irish running back Dexter Williams and defensive back Ashton White pleaded guilty Tuesday to a single misdemeanor charge of marijuana possession. As part of a plea deal, the two sophomores will have the charge dropped and avoid jail time if they complete a "conditional discharge" program, which requires a year of probation.

If they fail this program, the plea deal will be revoked and they will receive a jail sentence, according to the South Bend Tribune.
