When the Knicks’ president, Phil Jackson, held a news conference Monday to talk about the firing of Coach Derek Fisher, networks like ESPN, which stayed with the news conference for about seven minutes, and NBA TV showed it live. MSG Network did not.
MSG chose instead to televise a replay of the Knicks’ 101-96 loss to Denver on Sunday, their ninth loss in 10 games.
The network did record the news conference, saying in a statement, “We had a crew at the M.S.G. Training Center this morning, and we made the decision to tape the interviews and share it with our audience tonight during Rangers coverage and tomorrow night for Knicks coverage.
