NCAA denies Syracuse QB Terrel Hunt's appeal for sixth season

The NCAA has denied Syracuse's appeal in an effort to get Orange quarterback Terrel Hunt a sixth season of eligibility, The Daily Orange reported Monday.

Hunt, who threw for 1,638 yards and 10 touchdowns as a redshirt sophomore in 2013, missed all but five games of his junior season because of a broken leg and then sustained a season-ending torn Achilles tendon in Syracuse's opener in 2015.

The NCAA in late November denied Syracuse's waiver request for a sixth year of eligibility for Hunt, and the university then filed an appeal.
