Circle Sport-Leavine Racing is partnering with a new sponsor this weekend at Sonoma Raceway – one that it turned to in the wake of a recent attack of ransomware.
The team says that crew chief Dave Winston recently fell victim to the attack – and began a journey that led to a new sponsorship arrangement.

Computers used by Winston were recently infected by ransomware, according to the team’s website, and those who launched the problem demanded that the team pay a ransom within 48 hours, or their data would be lost.
