Michael Floyd's Kombucha Tea Defense Reportedly Supported by Vikings

Minnesota Vikings chief operating officer Kevin Warren wrote a letter defending wide receiver Michael Floyd's claim his positive alcohol test was due to kombucha tea consumption, saying Floyd was unaware the drink contained alcohol.

“I am writing to request Mr. Floyd not have his court mandated requirements negatively impacted since he did not know the kombucha he ingested contained alcohol,” Warren wrote in the June 21, per Brian Murphy of the Pioneer Press.

Floyd, 27, violated terms of his house arrest by failing three self-administered Breathalyzer tests after consuming the kombucha tea while at teammate Kyle Rudolph's home June 11.
