The San Diego Chargers will keep linebacker Melvin Ingram around for at least one more season after designating him with the franchise tag.

Albert Breer of The MMQB reported the Chargers' decision to keep Ingram under the one-year tender. Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports also reported the news.

Ingram appeared destined to be tagged with the injury-risk label early in his career. After appearing in all 16 games as a rookie with the Chargers, the 2012 first-round pick played in 13 games between 2013-14 due to injuries.
