Megan Kalmoe left Tuesday for Rio de Janeiro and Games of the XXXI Olympiad, which meant she wasn’t available for a phone conversation about the expected nightmare she would encounter upon arrival, how it has been discussed for more than a year in the U.S. media and how she feels about it all.
In writing a blog post that’s been disseminated a bit less widely than pictures of sewage in Rio’s harbor, however, Kalmoe made her point as succinctly and emphatically as the English language will allow:
“All you want to talk about is s— in the water.
