Max Scherzer's Cy Young-worthy season continues vs. Phillies

Each night in the 2016 baseball season, we'll run down the top news, facts and highlights from action around Major League Baseball.

It seems like everyone is making their case for National League Cy Young these days.

Washington Nationals ace Max Scherzer threw his name back into the ring Tuesday after giving up just two runs in eight innings in a 3-2 win against the Philadelphia Phillies.

Scherzer struck out 11 batters. He now has 12 10-strikeout games this season, the most in MLB. He also took a no-hitter into the sixth inning, marking the ninth time in 61 career games with Washington he's accomplished that feat — 15 percent of his starts.
