Matt Harvey Could Appear Against Dodgers in Game 5, Mets Manager Says

LOS ANGELES — In his office hours before Game 4 of their National League division series, when the Mets were leading the Dodgers by a game, Manager Terry Collins emphatically declared that Matt Harvey was done pitching for the series. Harvey had labored through five innings in a Game 3 victory, and the Mets had decided that it would be harmful to pitch him again.

But on Wednesday, as the Mets flew here, Harvey told Collins that he would be able to pitch in the winner-take-all Game 5 on Thursday against the Dodgers. At his news conference, then, Collins indicated that Harvey could go one or maybe two innings if needed.
