Marcus Peters, Todd Gurley claim NFL rookie of the year awards

Chiefs cornerback Marcus Peters and Rams running back Todd Gurley were honored Saturday night at the NFL Honors awards show as the top rookies in the NFL. Peters took home the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year while Gurley won Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Peters was the only defensive rookie selected to the Pro Bowl this season after tying for the league lead with eight interceptions. Peters was the 18th overall pick in last April's NFL Draft. This season he recorded 60 tackles and a forced fumble to go along with two defensive touchdowns.
