LOOK: Katie Ledecky astounds by shattering 800m freestyle world record

Friday night, in her last swim at the 2016 Rio Olympics, Katie Ledecky put a bow on her fantastic sophomore appearance in the Summer Games by breaking her own world record in the 800-meter freestyle on the way to one of the most dominant gold medals you'll ever see in swimming.

It's the 13th time Ledecky has set the world record in the 800 free. She was an automatic to take first; it was just a matter of by how many seconds.

Turns out, the answer is 11.38. Ledecky touched the wall in 8:04.79. Great Britain's Jazz Carlin reached in 8:16.
