The forward started all three of Portugal’s group stage games and scored the nation’s opening goal against Ghana. Despite a loss to South Korea on the final group day, Portugal still won a tight Group H after wins against Ghana and Uruguay. Now, the 2016 European champions will be looking to avoid a second straight World Cup last-16 exit.
Switzerland, meanwhile, has been eliminated in the round of 16 in its last two World Cups and has not made the quarterfinals of the tournament since it hosted in 1954.
