Lane Kiffin reportedly being pursued for FAU head coaching position

Lane Kiffin wasn't hired to take over high-profile programs at Oregon and Houston, but the Alabama offensive coordinator may still have a shot to get back into the head coaching ranks — at Florida Atlantic.

Kiffin and the Owls have "had dialogue," according to a report from The Associated Press. Kiffin has expressed interest in getting back into the head coaching game, and the FAU program would certainly present a major challenge.

The Owls have had three consecutive 3-9 seasons under former coach Charlie Partridge, whom FAU fired in November. Florida Atlantic has not gone to a bowl game since 2008, when Howard Schellenberger coached the team to a 7-6 record and a win in the Motor City Bowl.
