John Johnson, 68, All-Star Forward in N.B.A.

John Johnson, a two-time All-Star forward with the Cleveland Cavaliers who helped the Seattle SuperSonics win the 1979 N.B.A. title, died on Thursday at his home in San Jose, Calif. He was 68.

His godson, John Herndon, confirmed his death but said he did not know the cause.

Johnson, a 6-foot-7-inch former University of Iowa star, was drafted seventh over all by Cleveland in 1970, and he made All-Star appearances for the Cavaliers in 1971 and 1972.

He averaged 12.9 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.8 assists in 12 seasons with Cleveland, Portland, Houston and Seattle.
