Jessica Mendoza to Replace Curt Schilling for ESPN Broadcast

Jessica Mendoza, a gold-medal-winning Olympic softball player, will replace Curt Schilling on ESPN’s broadcast Sunday night of the Chicago Cubs-Los Angeles Dodgers game. ESPN pulled Schilling from Sunday’s game as well as a Little League World Series game earlier this week because he shared a meme on Twitter that suggested extremist Muslims were comparable to Nazis.

Mendoza, primarily an analyst for women’s college softball at ESPN, became the first woman to call a Major League Baseball game for ESPN on Monday when she joined Dave O’Briena and Dallas Braden for the network’s St. Louis Cardinals-Arizona Diamondbacks game.
