The Giants defensive end on Friday updated his social media avatar on Twitter and Instagram to an x-ray of his mangled right hand, putting into perspective his July 4 fireworks accident that threatened to bring his football career to an end.

Pierre-Paul spent most of the season playing with a heavy club wrap on his hand since losing his right index finger and severely damaging his middle finger and thumb in the accident.
