Jason Day fired a 6-under 66 Thursday to climb into the lead after the first round of the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill Club and Lodge.
After double-bogeying the par-4 ninth hole, Day responded by shooting a 5-under 31 on the back nine, which was capped by a stunning eagle on the par-5 16th hole.

The round came just days after Day called out Jordan Spieth, saying the 22-year-old star may be running out of steam. Day himself made some questionable comments earlier in the year explaining how he asked Tiger Woods for advice on how to stay mentally competitive.
