Here are the plays NBA teams use to get 3-point shooters wide open

NBA teams have never put a greater emphasis on 3-pointers. Since 2010-11, a league-wide record for perimeter shots attempted has been set each and every season. That'll be the case this season, too, with teams hoisting an average of 23.8 3-pointers per game — a 5.9 percent increase over the previous high.

With 3-pointers being such a huge focus in today's game, it's important how those shots are created to ensure volume isn't beating out quality. Many of the league's elite shooters, such as the Warriors' Stephen Curry and Trail Blazers' Damian Lillard, are able to create for themselves out of isolation and pick-and-rolls, but teams still rely heavily on the X's and O's to set players up in the half court for open opportunities.
