Heat, humidity increase dangers at Indy, likely will affect racing

Brother, it's hot in Indianapolis. Maybe the best thing to be said about Sunday? It probably won't rain.

But that is little consolation for drivers, crews and fans who must get through a NASCAR Sprint Cup race with a triple-digit heat index.

Indianapolis Motor Speedway is the site for Sunday's Brickyard 400. Under the Indiana sun, with little wind and humidity topping 60 percent, it will be uncomfortable bordering on dangerous.
