FTW: Redskins are putting RG3 out of his misery

Ending what had been weeks of preseason madness, and now beginning what promises to be months of regular season folly, the Washington Redskins announced Monday that Kirk Cousins, the quarterback they drafted in the fourth round of the 2012 draft, would be named the team’s starting quarterback over Robert Griffin III, the quarterback taken No. 2 in the same draft at a price that essentially mortgaged the franchise’s immediate future. With the move comes a seismic shift in the direction of a team that previously had none and was heading there with no one at the helm.
