Former Wisconsin running back Montee Ball was arrested at 5 a.m. Friday and is tentatively facing a charge of substantial battery following an alleged altercation with his girlfriend, per Madison.com.
Police were called at 3:40 a.m. Friday to the Hampton Hotel and Suites in Madison, Wis. Ball's girlfriend told authorities the former NFL back "put his hands on her, picked her up and threw her." She says she hit a table, which resulted in a cut on her leg that required stitches.
