Ex-Blue Devil Christian Laettner allegedly owes creditors $14 million

With NBA stars making hundreds of millions of dollars this weekend, former player Christian Laettner may be wishing he could be in on the action.

The former Duke Blue Devil and NBA player could soon find himself in bankruptcy court at the behest of creditors who allege the former Duke basketball star owes more than $14 million in unpaid debt.

In a petition filed Friday in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Durham, N.C., five creditors summon Laettner to pay the collectively owed sum or file for involuntary chapter 7 bankruptcy. The documents, obtained by KentuckySportsRadio.com, did not disclose the nature of Laettner's debt but did categorize them as "primarily business debt.
