Eagles cut veteran receivers Rueben Randle, Chris Givens

The Philadelphia Eagles announced the release of eight players Sunday, but most notably were two veteran receivers.

Rueben Randle and Chris Givens were among those waived, meaning the chances are good the Eagles will keep rookie Paul Turner.

Turner, undrafted out of Louisiana Tech, has outperformed Givens with nine catches for 99 yards to just one 19-yard reception for Givens in three preseason games. Givens, a fourth-round pick of the St. Louis Rams in 2012, signed a one-year contract worth $840,000 in March. The five-year veteran has 107 career receptions for 1,779 yards and five touchdowns.
