Duffy heading into Twins series: ‘We’re playing like we’re playing for our lives’

MINNEAPOLIS — The Minnesota Twins are on top of the American League Central but haven’t controlled their own home field. The Kansas City Royals are just trying to get some momentum at the bottom of the division and haven’t played well on the road.

Both teams managed to avoid being swept Thursday and will look to gain traction when they start a series at Target Field on Friday.

Kansas City had lost the first two games at home to the New York Yankees before Danny Duffy won for the first time since April 14 as the Royals beat New York 5-1 on Thursday.
