Doug Williams Named Redskins' Senior Vice President of Player Personnel

As the Washington Redskins restructure their front office after a tumultuous offseason, Doug Williams has been hired as the team's senior vice president of player personnel.

Washington president Bruce Allen announced Williams' hiring on Tuesday, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

The Redskins have been without a general manager since March when Scot McCloughan was officially fired after he didn't attend the NFL scouting combine.

The organization is still in the process of finding a new GM, but Williams helps bring some stability back to the front office. The 61-year-old has been a personnel executive with the Redskins since 2014, giving him an understanding of the roster and management already in place.
