DFS declared legal in Rhode Island

Rhode Island attorney general Peter Kilmartin released an opinion on the legality of daily fantasy sports in Rhode Island yesterday declaring the contests legal under state law.

Daily fantasy sports, which are legally required to comply with federal and state gaming laws, have been under review in numerous states with only Massachusetts and Kansas also concluding the contests are legal under their respective state laws.

In his letter, Kilmartin states "while there is no statute or case that deals on point with this issue, there is enough precedent to analyze and draw a conclusion.
