Derrick Rose seeks $70K in court costs from rape accuser, who plans to appeal verdict

Sued for $21.5 million in a federal civil trial over an alleged sexual assault, Knicks guard Derrick Rose is seeking to recoup $70,000 in court costs from the woman who filed the lawsuit against him.

Rose and two friends were cleared of any liability in October. The woman claimed the seven-year NBA veteran and longtime friends Randall Hampton and Ryan Allen drugged and raped her after she passed out at her Los Angeles apartment in 2013. The woman and Rose were in a relationship at the time. He's maintained the sex was consensual.

In recent court documents obtained by ESPN, Rose's legal team revealed that the accuser plans to appeal the jury's ruling and brought into question the unidentified woman's claims of financial hardship.
