Cardinals, Seahawks play to bizarre tie as kickers fail miserably in overtime

Lightning struck twice in the desert, much to the disdain of two NFL teams and millions of football fans.

The Arizona Cardinals and Seattle Seahwks played to a 6-6 stalemate Sunday, the first NFL tie without a touchdown since 1972, when both kickers missed chip-shot field goal attempts in the final 4 minutes of overtime that followed an ugly offensive performance from both sides.

Steven Hauschka missed wide left from 28 yards out with 11 seconds to play, taking the place of Chandler Catanzaro as the most depressed man in University of Phoenix Stadium. Catanzaro had clanked a 24-yarder off the left upright minutes earlier that would have given the Cardinals a much-needed win.
