Braves left-hander Matt Marksberry is awake after spending several days in a medically induced coma, according to Dave O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal Constitution. Marksberry suffered a seizure and a collapsed lung during a colonoscopy on Tuesday.
According to O'Brien, the 26-year-old Marksberry had been experiencing stomach pain for a week when he decided to go to the doctor. He sent out this tweet the day before the colonoscopy:
I don't want to sound selfish but I really could use some prayers for my health right now. Non baseball related.
