After Losing Captain to a Punch, the Rangers Win a Shootout

PHILADELPHIA — Even without their captain, the Rangers were determined to get a victory.

Mats Zuccarello and Derek Stepan scored during a shootout on Saturday to lift the Rangers to a 3-2 comeback victory over the Philadelphia Flyers.

Keith Yandle tied the score with 12.9 seconds left in regulation, and Chris Kreider also scored in regulation for the Rangers, who won a second consecutive game for just the second time since Nov. 23.

“In the third, we played our best hockey,” Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist said. “We had the determination to get the things done.
