The Yankees pummeled pitcher Jacob deGrom on Friday; then, in a 6-4 loss Sunday night, the Mets put on a display that crossed far into slapstick. They committed four errors in the field and a blunder on the basepaths, short-circuiting any opportunity they might have had.
