Rangers 5, Yankees 2: On Night to Remember, Game to Forget as Rangers Sweep Yanks

First, there were chants of “Tino! Tino!” Then came roars for the sagacious Joe Torre, followed by applause that increased in intensity for each individual as Andy Pettitte, Jorge Posada, Mariano Rivera and Derek Jeter strolled onto the field.

The final ovation was the loudest, though, with a number of fans proudly waving Puerto Rican flags as Bernie Williams was enshrined in Monument Park during a pregame ceremony. His number, 51, was retired by the team with which he won four World Series championships and for which he remains the career postseason leader in home runs and runs batted in.
