TOLEDO, Ohio – Toledo seniors Cassie Alcala and Julia Kuszynski swept the final Mid-American Conference Player of the Week awards, the league announced on Tuesday. Alcala was named MAC Singles Player of the Week for the second time this year and was also tabbed Doubles Team of the Week with Kuszynski for the second time this season.
Alcala was perfect from the No.1 singles court to help Toledo take down Buffalo and Ball State last week and secure Toledo's second consecutive Mid-American Conference Regular Season Championship. Alcala put Toledo at match point, losing only three games in a 6-0, 6-3 victory over Buffalo's Jagmeet Kaur.
